The Shadow

AR400-79-12pr1sm

I had not been shooting much lately and the films I still have developed do not give anything interesting; I fished this one from the old 2011's pile while looking through my archive for something else. It is Bessa R3M/35mm lens on Tri-X film rated at 1600 in Diafine.

Another night at Little Havana

February 2012, Viernes Culturales in Little Havana
Last Friday of every month there is an event at Calle Ocho in Little Havana named Viernes Culturales ("Cultural Fridays"). The site is down at the moment but the event is going on; it is relatively easy to find street parking and a lot of small venues to enjoy, a lot of subjects to photograph. Here is few more frames from the roll I shoot last Friday:

Wind from the sea

Homeless man leaving a caffe at Washington Avenue in Miami Beach, Florida, USA, 2011. Street Photography of Miami, San Francisco and Key West by Emir Shabashvili, see http://street-foto.com, http://miamistreetphoto.com, http://miamistreetphotography.com or http://miamistreetphotographer.com

First time the "M" letter in camera's "Bessa R3M" name had gotten a use: the battery died that night but the camera, been fully manual, worked. I just happened to have an external exposure meter and used it instead of the internal.

Downtown at night

Downtown at Night, Miami, Florida, USA, 2011. Street Photography of Miami, San Francisco and Key West by Emir Shabashvili, see http://street-foto.com, http://miamistreetphoto.com, http://miamistreetphotography.com or http://miamistreetphotographer.com
It is EMPTY. People park their lexuses and infinities at the lower floors and take elevators to their condos. They live in these ivory towers as in high-walled fortresses, guarded by sleepy attendants at the ground floors. The Downtown is left to rare passing cars and homeless folks; they sleep on the sidewalks here and there.
Again, Bessa R3M rangefinder/35mm lens/Tri-X developed in 2xDiafine to E.I.=3200.

Night at Calle Ocho

Evening in Little Havana, Miami, Florida, USA, 2011. Street Photography of Miami, San Francisco and Key West by Emir Shabashvili, see http://street-foto.com, http://miamistreetphoto.com, http://miamistreetphotography.com or http://miamistreetphotographer.com
I keep returning to Calle Ocho. True, it is limited to the couple of streets and not very crowded. It is boring at times. But, its also one of the few places in Miami where there is a real street life. So here it is again, Little Havana, taken on Tri-X with my Bessa R3M rangefinder/35mm lens and developed in 2xDiafine to E.I.=3200.

It's been too hot during the day. I am shooting at the sunset and at night. This is Little Havana, taken on Tri-X with my Bessa R3M rangefinder/35mm lens and developed in Diafine.

Money wise

Homeless man holding a dollar on Biscayne Boulevard in Downtown Miami, Florida, USA, 2011. Street Photography of Miami, San Francisco and Key West by Emir Shabashvili, see http://street-foto.com, http://miamistreetphoto.com, http://miamistreetphotography.com or http://miamistreetphotographer.com
He was holding one dollar to the sun and looking at it. Long enough for me to take the picture with my Bessa R3M fitted with 28mm Ultron f/1.9 lens
